DOING BUSINESS IN EUROPE REQUIRES MORE THAN JUST BEING ABLE TO ORDER A MEAL OR BOOK A HOTEL IN YOUR CUSTOMER’S LANGUAGE.
Speaking, listening, reading and writing are the four necessary disciplines of any language, but they all have one factor in common which determines your success and the usefulness of your command of your chosen language.
In German we call it “Wortschatz” and in English we say “vocabulary”. Words are the building blocks of sentences and paragraphs, etc., and you can build a holiday vocabulary, a business vocabulary, an academic vocabulary, a legal vocabulary, a social vocabulary, an accounting vocabulary or a series of technical, specialist or scientific vocabularies, etc.
The 1,000 most used words give you a sound foundation in any language. The specialist vocabularies you add to that will depend on your line of business, & are tailored to your exact requirements.
By involving your requirements from the beginning, and by coupling them with our “Learning Skills” study techniques, we ensure that you quickly feel comfortable in those parts of the language upon which your livelihood depends.
With German the most widely spoken native tongue in Europe, and with German speaking countries forming the largest marketplace, it is vital to be able to start any conversation in that language.
But, interestingly enough, you don’t have to speak perfectly. Making a good attempt gains you the attention and respect of most German speakers, many of whom are trying to improve their English and so fully appreciate the effort you make. And when you make the effort, they will normally like you, and will also want to practise their English !
