TO BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE MOST PEOPLE IN EUROPE, IF YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH, THEN CHOOSE GERMAN.

But If Your Native Tongue is Another Language, Learn English.

At the European Language & Learning-Skills Centre, we have German born instructors  who prepare youngsters for all levels of  school and college examinations in German, whether they are beginners or already at intermediate or advanced level.  We cover GCSE, AS Level and A2 Level, and when required  get advanced pupils started towards their Baccalaureate studies.  We also teach English as a Foreign Language.

In addition, where a student’s progress is felt to be slower than normal, we utilise the world famous APS “Learning-How-to-Learn” technology to discover what aspect(s) of  that student’s learning has been “barriered” by earlier inadequate training practices, and then help the student to him or her self remove those barriers and thus speed up their progress.

It is interesting how language preferences change – mainly for political and economic  reasons.  For years the popular choices of languages to learn at school have been French and Spanish.

French was for some time the language of diplomacy and France was the foreign holiday country closest to England.

Spanish is still the most widely spoken European language in the world, but is today being fast caught up by English, so that the main usages of Spanish by an English student is for holidays and business in Spain or  South America

In addition, the reasons why an English school student should prefer French or Spanish are now essentially going out of date.  To succeed in business or to attain good jobs in Europe, the development of the U.K.’s closer and closer links with Europe and the E.U. is making it necessary to be able to communicate with a majority of the European population, rather than just those countries with holiday coastlines on the Mediterranean Sea.

In addition the effects of global warming are moving the preferred holiday areas further and further north into western and central Europe.  In fact it is said that the English south coast will rival the Mediterranean for warm, comfortable holiday weather in a few decades, whilst Spain, France, Italy, Turkey and Greece are likely to be far too hot for comfort.

For the average Brit, German pronunciation and spelling are easier to learn than nearly any other language, so that faster progress and higher proficiency are the norm once the intricacies of European grammar have been overcome with our “Learning-Skills” study techniques.
